A Gateshead mother is angry that her daughter was left to walk home alone late at night after every driver in a Newcastle taxi rank refused to take her home.

The drivers say they couldn’t take the risk when the girl said she had no money but told her to go to the taxi office where her details could be taken down and a taxi ordered.
